Lent @ the Friary
In a busy, noisy and fast moving world the Lord gives us this sacred time of Lent to come apart for a while in peace and quiet to listen to His voice. The Lord tells us in sacred Scripture: “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart”. Jer 29 It is such a gift and blessing to step out of the normal routine of life to just be with Jesus and allow Him to speak to your heart and heal and renew you with His grace. Here in the Friary there will be some opportunities to do just that.
Mondays @ 11am and 7.30pm: Lectio Divina. This is a great chance to prayerfully reflect with others on the Scriptures for the following Sunday. You don’t need past experience or preparation just come as you are!
Wednesdays @ 7:15pm: The Stations of the Cross with reflections inspired by the Divine Mercy devotion.
Thursday March 12th @ 7:15pm. Scripture scholar Fr Terence Crotty O.P. will help us reflect on the Passion accounts in the different Gospels with questions and answers.
Thursday, Fridays & Saturdays from 11am: Spend quiet time with the Lord Jesus in His loving presence in the Blessed Sacrament in our Exposition Chapel on our Friary lane.
Come and join us on our Lenten journey with the Lord Jesus.
““Lent is the right time to make room for the Word of God. It is the time to turn off the television and open the Bible.” Pope Francis
